This past year has been another profound experience and we can take solace in the knowledge that our ancestors, too, experienced seasons of trying times. And here’s the point: thanks to this history, over time our faith — and our church — have been built to help us live through such seasons with grace and hope. At our core, First Christian Church is a community of reunion, homecoming, and return.  Our Visioning work is helping Illumin8 a path forward and our regional church describes us a movement for wholeness in a broken and fragmented world.  Now more than ever, in a world full of exile, our congregation stands as a beacon of hope, welcome, and radical hospitality.

With all of this in mind, we invite you to join us in giving thanks for all the resources —spiritual, theological, physical, and financial — that support this indispensable work.   During October, we focus on our promises of support called "gifts" to build Staff Salaries, Community, Spiritual Development, Property Needs, Education and to put a little away for savings. On October 30th, we'll bring our commitments on Giving Sunday. Together, we’ll fill out the cards; and together, we’ll celebrate God’s beautiful gift of “a future with hope".

And as we look ahead, enclosed you’ll find some special resources to help us identify the gifts we can share with the church. During this difficult financial period for so many, we especially appreciate your generosity because we know that means you have found something that touches you in a way that makes your giving worthwhile to YOU!

1.  Below, please find "The Giving Chart" if you need help considering your financial commitment to the work of the people and our hopes for the future. Some tithe, committing 10 percent of their income to the ministry and missions of our church. Others give proportionally by committing a certain percentage. Still, others give as they are able. What matters is that each person spends some time in thought and prayer to decide how they can be a part of our church going all in!
