We celebrate with a traditional protestant worship format, which includes communion each week–a hallmark of the Disciples of Christ denomination.

Learn more about our worship...

Our worship includes a wide variety of music styles, from traditional hymns to contemporary praise songs. In addition to congregational singing, First Christian Church Scottsdale has a praise team and a chancel choir that share inspirational music from Bach to Broadway! And our accomplished pianist sets the tone with beautiful instrumental music. Each portion of the service is designed to serve a specific worship function, starting with announcements about opportunities to participate in church projects and special prayer requests followed by quiet introspection and prayer, joyful praise,  thoughtful contemplation, and profound inspiration. There is participation by laity leadership and a special Children’s moment.

The focus of worship is bible based, speaking inward to our spirits, upward to God, and then outward to the world with a benediction as we leave the space. Some watch on-line, some in person, but the worship service offers us a way to gather in a powerful and loving faith community. On campus fellowship time after service is a way to meet and catch up with fellow congregants.

As Jesus said “Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I will be also!”
